Handmade Curved Oaxacan Green Clay "Comal"

Overview
Although this ancient cookware is beautiful enough to hang on a wall and admire, it was made with fire, for the fire. Cooking, heating and serving with it will bring you great results. Over time the oil you cook with will create a protectant layer with each use. Comales can be used to re-heat, char, sauté and bake. To avoid cracking and maintain moisture in your food, dont forget to soak in water prior to use. Or forget the kitchen and simply adorn your favorite space and gaze at its beauty.
 
Design
Each comal was made with green clay and decorated with smoke from undergroud fire pits by our master potter in Oaxaca, Mexico. The design of each piece is unique.
